Homemade Christmas Ornaments

I thought of this project after my son begged me to get a holiday coke. I told him to save the bottle and we would reuse it for something else. Once I told him what we were going to do , he wouldn't stop bugging me. He had a blast doing this project.

For this project you'll need some things.

Holiday coke bottle

Glitter glue , glitter , ribbons , or what ever you can fit down in the bottle.

Scissors

A knife , or drill.

Tape

That's it , lets go to the next step now.

You'll need to wash out your coke bottle and let it dry , and of course take the paper off the bottle.

While it's drying , you can work on the cap .

You will need to make a hole in the top of the cap , so that you can feed your string , chain , or ribbon in it to make a loop so you can hang it . I tided a knot in the ribbon , you may need to tape it to the cap.

Now that the bottle is dry , you'll need to think about how you want your ornament to look like.

I took left over glitter glue from another project and just squeezed it in the bottle and moved it around till I got the look I wanted. I then added white glitter , and ribbons.
In my green ornament I added a piece of origami foiled folding paper in the middle.

Instead of glitter and ribbons , you could make a water , or dry globe. Maybe even add some led light/s.

If you have your bottle looking the way you want , all you need to do is put the cap on and hang. If you added loose material , or water I suggest making sure that the cap can't come off. I taped mine to keep any loose glitter from coming out of it, just in case one of the kids pulled it off the tree. But if you have small children , you might want to super glue the cap on , or even hot glue it .
