Homemade Churros
This is my favorite recipe for when I make churros myself. I hope you like them too!
Ingredients
1 cup of Water
1 cup of All Purpose Flour
3 Tbsp of Unsalted Butter
1 Tbsp of Vegetable Oil
4 Eggs
1 Tbsp of Granulated Sugar
1 tsp of Salt
1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
Canola Oil for frying
½ cup of Granulated Sugar for coating
2 T of Ground Cinnamon
In a pan, add the water, butter, vegetable oil, sugar, vanilla, and salt, then bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to low and add the flour, stirring until the mixture turns into a ball. Cook this mixture for about 1 minute. (Keep mixing it)
After you have removed the dough from the heat, add one egg a time and mix well after each addition to make sure the egg is well combined.
Create a piping bag by cutting a small hole in the corner of a plastic bag and inserting a large star tip. Add the dough mixture and squish down to the tip.
Heat up your oil, and then use your piping bag to create the churros. Flip over with tongs to create a even brown exterior.
Place cooked churros on paper napkin to soak up any excess oil.
Roll churros in cinnamon sugar.
Voila! Your churros are ready to eat. The sooner the better as everyone like a hot churro right off the stove :)
