Homemade Halloween Invites

We host a Halloween part every year and I thought it would be fun to make invites for it instead of buying them. So I set out to do this on a budget and use what I had already available to me to create a cool, fun, and interactive invite for our guest to receive.

I used:

Colored paper

Kraft envelopes

rubber cement

a laser cutter

These are the things I had readily available to me to use on this but you could truly use anything.

After I knew what available supplies I had on hand I used that as a guideline to create my invites. The biggest goal I had with this was to make something interactive. So I came up with this idea of a skull that the brain would get pulled out of and the invite would be on the brain with date and time on the back of that brain.

Now that I had the plan I just needed to start cutting the parts out. I used my laser to cut and print my text and image on the parts. I also decided to use green for the front of the skull because I didn't have enough white paper for all the invites I needed to make. This step could be done with a printer and razor knife or printer or whatever you have available to you.

This is the part that I found took the longest. I used rubber cement because I had no more spray adhesive and I didn't think hot glue would be a good option. but I glued the bottom half of the front and back of the skull together so I would be left with an area I could tuck the brain into for the guest to pull it out.

After all gluing fun was over I had 20 invites ready to get put into envelopes and sent to our guests! These turned out awesome and I was able to check all the boxes I intended to when I set out on this project.
