Homemade Icefish Pro
As an ice fisherman, have you wondered how to make your own ice fish tip-up? As an ice fisherman myself, I know how costly gear and supplies can get. That’s why I am here to tell you the instructions for building your own ice fish tip up. Ice fishing tips usually cost around 25 to 30 dollars, instead you can make your own for 10 dollars!
Getting Your Supplies
First, get these items and materials in order to construct your homemade ice fishing tip up. These items include: spring door stop, metal flag, piece of PVC, round piece of wood, alligator clips, 2 by 6 of wood, and some scrap wood. Tools: drill, glue, and little saw.
Creating Your Ramps
Second, cut out two ramps with your saw that will fit on the 2 by 6 of wood to form the base of your flag holder. Tip: watch video DIY ice fishing rig 1 minute and 56 seconds to see what ramps look like…. Drill a hole through both of the ramps at the same spot, so you can fit your small round piece of wood through.
Cutting Your PVC
Third, cut out a 5 inch piece of PVC pipe out and then cut a 45 degree angle at one end of it. Then if you want to spice things up, paint the PVC pipe a certain color so it is visible.

Aligning Your PVC on Block
Fourth, glue your ramps toward the back of your PVC, but have your ramps equally spread apart. Next, glue your 45 degree angle end of PVC on the other side of your wood, so you can place your fishing pole into it.
Finishing Touches and Allighments
Fifth, screw your door spring next to your PVC piece on your piece of wood. After you have that screwed, drill a tiny hole on top of the door spring. The reason for that is because then you can fit your flag into that tiny hole. Make sure that the round piece of wood has a clean 45 degree angle so it can trigger the flag. Then place the alligator clip into the middle of the round piece of wood, so you can clip your line onto it.
Conclusion
Hopefully, that will save any ice fisherman's money, instead of buying cheap equipment. In today’s world, people tend to want things fast and right away, but instead if you take the time you can save some money. I hope this invention will help you save some money on hobbies you enjoy.
