Homemade Recirculating Sluice Box
This is a guide on how to make a homemade recirculating sluice box out of spare wood and an aquarium pump.
Build the Sluice
Take a small plank of wood and use a Dremel tool to carve out the riffles and other textures you want on the sluice.
Put the Sides On
Now measure out how long the sluice boxes and put the sides on
Add the Pump
Now install the pump and make sure it is secure.
Add a Block to Even the Water Flow
Now add a block in the middle of the sluice to even the water flow.
Put a Bar on Top
The bar will hold the top of the sluice up out of the water.
Drill 2 Holes to Hold the Bottom Up
Drill two holes near the bottom of the sluice. Put string through the holes in that will later be used to hold the sluice up.
Add a Bucket
Find a tub or a bucket to put the sluice in. It will also act as a reservoir for water.
Put the Sluice In
Set this loose inside the box the bar should hold the time up. Use the string you put in earlier Entiat somewhere on the tub. This will hold the bottom of the sluice up.
Fill the Tub With Water
Fill it up until the pump can get the water into the sluice.
