Honey Bourbon BBQ Sauce
This is a quick easy way to make a bbq sauce with lots of flavor for not much work.
What You Will Need
1/4 Cup Onions or 2 Shallots, Chopped
4 Garlic Cloves, Chopped
2 Cups Honey Bourbon
15 Peppercorn
15 Mustard Seeds or 1 Tbl Mustard Powder
1 Tsp Cholula Hot Sauce or more for hotter BBQ Sauce
12oz Dr. Pepper
1 28oz bottle Sweet Baby Rays
4 Garlic Cloves, Chopped
2 Cups Honey Bourbon
15 Peppercorn
15 Mustard Seeds or 1 Tbl Mustard Powder
1 Tsp Cholula Hot Sauce or more for hotter BBQ Sauce
12oz Dr. Pepper
1 28oz bottle Sweet Baby Rays
Heating Up the Onions and Garlic
First chop up the onions and garlic they can be in larger chunks they will be strained out later on. Next heat the onion and garlic in some olive oil until they sweat.
Adding the Good Stuff
Once, the onions and garlic start to sweat add the Dr. Pepper bring to a boil. Once it starts to boil add the honey bourbon. Bring to a boil and burn off all the alcohol, when doing this make sure there is good ventilation in the kitchen.
Once most of the alcohol is burned off add the peppercorns, hot sauce, and mustard seeds. Reduce the mixture by 2/3.

Add the Sauce
Turn down the heat and add the bbq sauce and heat for 5 minutes until completely warm and remove from the heat.
Strain It
While still warm strain the bbq sauce in a fine wire mesh strainer or cheese cloth. To remove the onions, garlic, peppercorns, and mustard seeds.
Honey Bourbon BBQ Sauce
This will really impress people for not a lot of work. This will keep for a couple weeks if refrigerated and covered.
