Horns

Welcome!

My english isn't the best, so sorry for possible mistakes.
This is my first instructable and half-way trough the process I realized "I can make an instructable". That is why I forgot to take all the pictures, sorry.
I will try my best to explain everything, but it can be unclear.

The horns can be used for anything. So, let's start! :)

Things You Will Need

- mod podge or wood glue
- sand paper
- sharp knife
- XPS foam (1,18 inch thick = 3 cm)
- paint

The Shape

Draw a shape on a piece of paper and cut it out.
Trace your shape on the foam and cut it out... again.
It is no problem when you don't do it exactly on the lines, we will add shape to it later.

Sadly, I don't have pictures of this step.
Start by cutting of the corner edges (as shown on the picture). Keep doing this.
Cut to one point (the top of the horn). You could also start at the top and then go to the base. The base of the horn has to be thicker than the top.

Use sand paper to shape it nice and round. WARNING: when using the sand paper, there will be a lot of dust.

It was the first time I tried this. I think it turned out pretty good, it's not too difficult.

Mod Podge Time

Give the horns a couple layers of mod podge. You can use wood glue, but sometimes the paint won't stick to it. Let it dry.

Painting

Choose your colours and start painting!

The painting technique I used:
- give it 1 colour ( I used gold-brown)
- let it dry
- take a sponge or your brush and put a little paint on it (other colour than your base layer)
- Start dabbing the paint on

- put some paint on your brush
- dab it on the paper until there is almost no paint left on the brush
- now paint the horns.
Optional: use this technique to add silver highlights to your horns

Final Layer

Add one layer of the mod podge/wood glue.

Done!

You can glue them to a hairband, some hairclips, a helmet,...
WARNING: If you are using a hot glue gun, don't use it directly on the horns, there is a possibility that the foam will melt.
