Hot Glue Case

SAM_0079.JPG

With many phones being very smooth and hard to hold at times, with running to class and phones slipping out of pockets, it’s hard to keep phones safe and properly protected. Halloween’s coming soon and phone cases can be fairly expensive so why not make one in honor of the upcoming holiday. So here’s my attempt to make a light, custom, and most of all, affordable phone case with only hot glue plastic wrap (or cloth) and my iphone 4s (but it can work with nearly every phone on the market).

Gather Supplies

Hot glue sticks

Hot glue gun

Phone thick plastic sheet or cloth

Possibly an x-acto or very sharp razor blade

Cut the Plastic or Cloth to the Size of the Phone

cut it the cloth about twice the length and width of your phone (its better to have it a little to long then a little too short but then again you can just cut the material again)

Wrap the Phone With the Plastic or Cloth and Secure It With Tape

Lay the Phone Down the The Screen Flat on the Table or Work Area

Go around between the work area and the very edge of the phone being very careful to avoid any buttons, ports or mic holes

*If any ports or buttons are covered it’s not that big of a deal because you can just use a knife to cut holes and/or trim excess glue from the case*

-Once you’re comfortable with the thickness of the back just put one last layer around the edge or LIGHTLY melt any loose strings of hot glue to the edge

(**if you do the last layer of hot glue around the edge i would suggest flattening it with some flat surface a few moments after you lay the glue on when it’s still moldable but won’t burn you**)
