How to Draw Sky the Dog

Hi everyone! I don't know if you noticed, but my mascot for Instructables is a character I created named Sky the dog. I also write stories about him and his friends (and or enemies). And now you can learn to draw him with a few simple steps!

For the supplies, you're going to need a few obvious things:

- Paper
- Pencil with eraser
- Black, yellow, red, and pink colored pencils

First, you need to draw half a circle. Make one side a little shorter than the other.

For this step, you need to draw on the side that you made shorter. Draw the line outwards from the circle and curve it downwards to make the muzzle.

Next, take the curved line and make two upside down "camel humps" and then curve upwards into the circle to make the mouth. Then, make a line from the opposite side straight across to the bottom of the mouth.

Now we are making the nose and the tongue! For the nose, make a small oval inside of the lines where the two "camel humps" are. Color it in with your pencil. For the tongue, make a long oval sticking out between the two "camel humps". Then, draw a line going through 3/4 of the tongue.

To add teeth to your Sky, just make little "mountains" along Sky's mouth.

This may be the easiest part yet! Draw two triangles on top of the head and draw lines going up the ears.

Now, draw a circle a bit under the ear. Then, draw half a circle on the right where the muzzle is. To add pupils, place dots where you would like Sky to be looking.

Now we need to make Sky's tuxedo! To start off, make an upside down triangle under his neck. Then, to make the tie, draw an oval at the top of the triangle going 1/3 of the way down. Now, draw another triangle going off of the oval and down to the bottom of the triangle.
To make the actual tuxedo part, draw lines going down off of the head. After, draw lines on the inside to make the impression of arms.

To make Sky's signature, write "Sky" in cursive. Then, make the "y" go up and curve around so it looks like a bean. Make three dots over the "bean" so it now looks like a dog paw.

We shall now color Sky!

Color his face, ears and paws yellow.

Color his tuxedo black.

Color his tie red.

Color his tongue pink.

You are now done with your Sky the dog drawing! You can do many of the following:

-frame it

-throw it away

-create origami with it

-turn it into a potato
