How To: Glass Painting
A fun and trendy project to do in the comfort of your own home!
Collect Your Materials.
Materials (all can be purchased at Michaels):
- Paint (Acrylic)
- Paint Brushes
- Paint Pen
- Glass (shape/any size)
- Tape
- High quality image
Find an Image You Want to Paint.
Size the Image to Desired Dimensions, Keeping the Size of the Glass in Mind and Print It.
Tip: it can also be helpful to white out the background to save ink.
Trim the Excess Border Around the Image.
Place the Picture, Face Down, Where You Want It. Then Tape It Down in Place.
Tip: it can be helpful to hold up the glass to better see where you are placing the picture.
Use the Paint Pen to Carefully Trace the Black Lines on Your Character.
Tip: if the lines are hard to see, it can help to shine a flashlight on it.
Tip: if you make a mistake, then just scratch off the paint pen.
Paint the Details of Your Character First. Little Things That You Might Forget About Later. This Way You Don’t Accidentally Paint Over Them.
Now You’re Going to Paint the Shadows.
Tip: it can be helpful to break it up into the cloths, skin, and hair. That way you can work on another section while one is drying.
