How to Identify a Geneuine Store to Buy Medicines

Steps to identity a genuine online pharmacy from a fake one

Check If the Site Needs a Doctor's Perscription

All pharmacies are required by law to ask the customer for a doctor's prescription before selling prescription drugs. So if a pharmacy does not require you to produce a prescription before selling you prescription medicines then you are mostly probably dealing with a fake pharmacy

Check If the Site Offers Proper Support

All genuine pharmacies have proper phone support and access to a registered pharmacist at-least during normal working hours. So if the pharmacy you are dealing with does not have a direct phone number or access to a pharmacist then beware.

Check the Contact Address

Check the contact page of the pharmacy to see if the contact address is genuine. Make sure that you buy only from pharmacies located in your country and never from an international pharmacy no matter how low the rates are.

Check for Registration Details

Online pharmacies in the UK and US are required to be registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) and National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) respectively. All registered pharmacies have a logo with the registration details on the homepage.

For example: If you visit walgreens.com which is a US pharmacy you should be able to find a 'VIPPS' logo at the bottom right hand corner of the site. Clicking on this logo should take you to a page on the NABP website with the required registration details

Similarly if you check this UK pharmacy site you will be able to find a 'Registered Pharmacy' logo on the mid right column. Clicking on this logo should take you to the RPSGBlist.org site with details of the site's registration

Check If the Site Uses Secure Payment Options

While checking out check to ensure that the site uses secure payment collection procedures. A simple way to identify this is the check to see if the URL in your address bar shows a 'HTTP(S)' which includes a secure http connection.
