How to Make a Fish/Crawdad Trap

Fish traps are fun and easy to make as well as they catch little fish to either cook and eat or just to watch.

You Will Need:

-An empty bottle (Powerade works best)

-A knife

-still body of water

-weights (optional)

-fishing line (optional)

-bait (optional)

First rinse out the bottle so there is no sticky juice in it (it gets everywhere). Carefully remove the wrapping with the knife or just rip it off. A little white can be shown

Cutting It Down to Size

Cut on the top rung carefully and accurately all the way around the bottle to where you only have the nozzle part

Putting It Together

Gently cut down the sides about an inch or half an inch (this makes it easier to take the cap out). Now put the cap in so the black part or nozzle is facing down.

Poke Holes for the Fishing Line

Poke 2 holes in the middle with your knife opposite of each other

Fishing Line and Weights (not Pictured)

Thread your fishing line through both holes and tie a knot. Weights can be put in the bottle.

Bait!

Types of bait I have used are but not limited to; hot dogs, marshmallow, sandwich meat, bread, shrimp and anything with a strong scent.

Setting the Trap

Go to your body of water and fill up the trap with water. Push it to the bottom so there is no more air in it. If you have fishing line tie it to something so you don't lose your trap. If your area is full enough with little fish, you will catch one within an hour!
