These counterweight are easy to make and are much softer than plastic- which means less pain when you accidentally whack yourself in the face!

A small bouncy ball. (Let's be honest- everyone has one in their house.)

A screwdriver or a drill.

A pen

Mark out the centre of the ball with a pen. Do this on both sides.

Get your screwdriver and stab it into the mark on the ball.
Now start spinning and pushing it around and eventually you should pierce all the way through the ball.

If you have a drill then just drill through the ball.

Now repeat the previous step from the other side. Push the screwdriver in and out a few times. Then tap the ball on the table and all the insides should fall out.

Tah Dah!

You should end up with a nice round hole. Just push the string through (use a pin or a toothpick to help) and you're done!

You could try glueing some old yoyo string to the ball to make it look even cooler.
