How to Make a Band
The path of a musician is often a long and difficult journey.
To succeed is very difficult, and will require a lot of effort.
A band can be made with relative ease and requires little to no effort, so here are instructions for those who don't want a difficult task.

Step One: Getting the Members
To start your own band, you must first get together a group of people who own, or have access to musical instruments.
The ability to play those instruments is more of a luxury, not a necessity.
However it is recommended that at least one member should be able to play theirs.
Also make sure that each member plays a DIFFERENT instrument, so that you don't have a band of 5 guitarists. (As cool as that would be)

Step Two: Naming the Band
Every band needs a name right?
Your name should be very witty, and catchy. Like The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, or The Band.
You should brainstorm names with the group, find the ones you like and begin eliminating them.
Fire band members who don't agree with you.
Remember, once you find a name, research it to see if it's already taken.
You don't want to come up with AC/DC and find out some Australian guys already took it.
Fun Fact: The Beatles weren't always called The Beatles, their old band was The Quarrymen

Step Three: Jamming/Practicing Together
You can be a good musician all you like, that doesn't mean you work well with others.
For your first practice, you should all agree on a group of songs to learn and play together.
If you're anything like my band, it will be a horrifying failure.
But, as long as you don't break down and cry, it should be considered a success

Step Four: Writing Your Own Song
You can't be a successful band covering songs forever, unless you're a dreamer like me and my band.
Anyone besides that guy on your college campus with the acoustic guitar, playing Wonderwall will tell you that:
You need to start writing your own songs
Use the member of the group who is the best musician to write you a song.
All you need to do is leech off of the others and tag along, Ringo Starr didn't write many songs and people will love him forever.

Step Five: Giving Up
Once you either
A: Realize the hopelessness of the band
or B: Get in a fight with your bandand give up,
go start a new band, or more likely: cry in a corner because your old group becomes successful without you.
And that is the basis for starting a band.
Feel free to do it successfully in another way that I haven't recommended.
