How to Make a Basic Archery Target Out of Cardboard and Duct Tape

In this instructable I will be showing you how to make a basic, square archery target out of cardboard and duct tape.

Materials needed for this project:
- Ten big squares of cardboard (you can probably get cardboard out of the recycling bin of your local furniture store)
-Lots of duct tape
-A knife that you won't mind using to cut through cardboard
-Measuring devices (a yardstick for example)
-A pencil

Cutting Out Your First Square.

Using your yardstick, measure out how long you want your square of cardboard to be, and then use your pencil to mark where you want to cut (sorry, I forgot to take any pictures of this).

Once you've got your first square of cardboard cut out, then you can use it as a guideline for the other pieces of cardboard. Just put it over the piece that you need to cut, outline it with your pencil, and then cut away the excess parts of the cardboard. I would advise using the edge of the yardstick to cut against rather then the edge of the cardboard.

So Again...

Take your guideline piece of cardboard, put it on top of another piece of cardboard, mark where it needs to be cut with your pencil, take your guideline off, cut it, and do it eight more times.

Once You've Done That...

Take all your squares of cardboard that you cut, and stack them one on top of the other. Then, take your duct tape, and, starting at one side, start wrapping the duct tape all around the stack of cardboard pieces. Keep wrapping it around the cardboard in till you get to the end.

Finishing Up.

Once you've got to the end, just snip the duct tape and you're done! Unless you want to wrap across the other way (which I thought about doing but ended up not doing it). Or maybe you could get different colors of duck tape and put a yellow square in the middle, a red square around that, and so on and so on. That's it!
