How To: Picasso Cubism Makeup

Learn how to bring Picasso's cubism to life with makeup :)

Step 1: Find a White Eyeliner Pencil

Use any cosmetic white pencil for the first step.

I used a white eyeliner pencil from E.L.F. which is cruelty free

Step 2: Tracing

Use the white pencil to trace the shapes on your face. This makes it easier to see how your artpiece is going to turn out.
You can make it look symetrical if you like.

Step 3: Use Colour Facepaints

I used this 12 colour palette from Grimas makeup

Step 4: Filling in the Light Parts of Your Face

fill in the shapes with yellow, orange and red. I used these warm colours on the places on my face where the light hits the most.
example: my nose, forehead, chin and cheekbones.

Step 5: Fill in the Dark Parts

Use cool toned colours as pink, purple, and blue to fill in the parts of your face where light hits the least.

Step 6: Fill in Your Neck (optional)

I filled it my neck to extend the art piece a little, and used the neck to serve as the 'scribble/sketch' part of the artpiece.

The part where the artist is just testing out colours and see how they blend.
Just fill your neck in roughly, and blend the colours over eachother.

Step 7: Shading

Shade all of the shapes using a darker colour.
For yellow I used orange to shade it, for orange I used red,
For red I used brown, for pink I used purple,
For purple I used blue, and for blue I used black.

Shade with an eyeshadow and a fluffy brush for an airbrushed effect. Shade around the edges and drag the colour inwards.

You're Done!
