How To: Six Point Paper Snowflake
This is a how to for making pretty little 6 point paper snowflakes. Hope you enjoy!
Step 1: Make a Square
You need a square piece of paper to create your 6 point snowflake, so first we need to make this rectangle a square.
Do this by folding one corner over to make a right triangle, then trim off the excess portion of your rectangle. When you unfold the triangle you will have a perfect square.
Extra is trimmed off and tossed aside.
Now that we have a square we can get started.

Step 2: Fold Square in Half Like a Book
Next, fold your square in half like a book. This will give you a rectangular shape
Step 3: Fold the Rectangle Into Thirds As Shown
Position your rectangle so that the fold of your paper is pointing toward you. This is the trickiest part of the entire snowflake, folding the edges up into a cone so that you have 3 equal 60 degree angles. In other words. The outer edge of one fold should line up with the inside crease of your second fold. Still confused? Click ahead. :)
See that second edge, it should be even with your first fold.
It makes a little heart shape
See the inside corner is lined up with that first edge? Basically you just are making a cone and flattening it.

Step 4: Fold the Heart Shape in Half Down the Center
Now fold your little heart shape in half, right down the middle of the heart.
You can see the heart shape creased down the middle. That crease is what we're going to cut our shape around.

Step 5: Cut Out the Shape of Your Snowflake
Now for the fun part. Begin cutting around the last fold you just made. That shape is going to be the contour silhouette of each of the 6 points.
Cut some notches out of the crease to make little holes and designs within each point. Cut notches out of the other side as well for more detail.

Step 6: Unfold Your Creation!
Begin to unfold your corners to peek at the shape you made. If you see spots where you want more detail, fold it back up and snip away some more. If you're happy with your shape, you're done! That wasn't bad at all was it?
Make a few more and they look fun strung in hanging strands on fishing line.
Here they are strung en mass.
