How To: Tensegrity Table
Welcome back to the FSL Instructables! We have a really cool project that will be sure to impress. Today we're showing you how to make your own Tensegrity Table. We know at first glance it seems difficult to make, but with just 13 easy-to-follow steps, you'll have a cool new piece of decor in no time.
Supplies
- Laser Cutter
- Wood
- Glue
- Fishing wire
- Wire Cutters
- Drill
- Starting on the PS48, we're going to begin by cutting out our shapes from the wood.
- We have our setting at Speed: 30 Power: 100 Current: 100
- Taking the curved center pieces, drill small holes following the vector markings.
- Stack and glue your curved pieces together making sure that the holes and vector markings are centers with one another.
- Feed your fishing wire through the holes and add a super glue near the hole to hold the wire in place.
- Next, stack, and glue the top and bottom pieces of the table.
- Cut a long piece of fishing wire and run through the drilled holes we marked previously.
- Crisscross the wire and run through the top and bottom base pieces.
- Lastly, add tension by twisting and spinning the wire at the top. Once it's square, add glue to secure it in place.
- Once the glue has dried, trim the excess wire to clean up the final look.
