This is a basic tutorial on how to make your own fantasy map in Inkarnate.

Supplies

If you haven’t already go to https://inkarnate.com/ and make an account you do not have to sign up for a pro membership I personally have one but they are not required to make a map.

Set a Style

Step one go to create a map, for the map I’m making today I will be choosing fantasy world style

Set a Scene

Next you need to pick resolution and set your aspect ratio I will be using square and 2k resolution.

Create Your Landmass

Once you get into the map you can begin to add your continent to the map by using the add tool on the mask options.

Give It Some Color

Once you’ve made your landmass use the brush options to start spicing up your landmass and the water around it. At this point it might be helpful to save your progress so you don’t lose anything.

Add Some Assets

Next you can use the stamp option to add some setting pieces to your map, this is where a pro membership would be helpful Inkarnate gives you access to many different assets. I've added a large volcano and some smoke coming out of it.

Spice It Up

After creating some different pieces, try naming them with the text options, you can draw a path from place to place using the path options, finally use the filter option to add a bit more spice to your new map. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
