How to Blend a Character Into a Background on Picsart
Today I'm going to show you how to use Picsart to blend a character onto a background while editing on the app.
Crop Your Image
Crop your image to the measurements appropriate to your subject by going to TOOLS, CROP, and cropping your image as necessary. Click the checkmark when done.
Select Your Background Image
Open the app and select your background picture.
Resize the Image
Open Picsart, select your image, and resize by going to the tools tab, RESIZE, and input the max credentials. This will make your picture quality increase by 10 fold. Click the checkmark when done.
Add Your Character
Go to the ADD PHOTO icon and click on your image. Then size and position him into the photo. DO NOT CLICK THE CHECK MARK YET.
Blending Using Light
While clicking on the layer of your subject, click ADJUST. Play around with the Brightness, Contrast, until your subject starts to fit in with the lighting more. Click the first checkmark when done but DO NOT click the second for your subject.
Color Correction
To blend your subject into the environment's color, go to FX, COLORS, COLORIZE, drag the filter tab to DARKEN, drag the HUE bar until the color scene most on your background is there, then fade enough so the subject has a realistic tint.
Make a White Duplicate of Your Subject
Go to the top middle left icon that has two squares. Click on the tabs that says DUPLICATE. Put the duplicated layer over the original picture. Go to FX, COLORS, BLACK AND WHITE. Slide the bar all the way to the right and make it completely black. Click the middle icon while doing this to continue adding another filter. Go to COLORS, NEGATIVE, and then you should have a white copy of your picture. Click the first checkmark when done.
Add Brightness Using the White Duplicate
Click the OPACITY tab and lower the opacity of the white duplicate so the bottom layer is barely visible. When you are finished click the first check mark. Click the layer again, click the top ERASER ICON to open the add and subtract the layer using brush strokes. Click contrast to get rid of the layer. Then click the brush tool, set the opacity to your liking, and brush in the white layer so that the parts that should be bright are highlighted. CLICK BOTH CHECKMARKS WHEN FINISHED.
Brushing in Lighting and Shading
Go to TOOLS, ADJUST, and then, using the eraser and brush tool, play around with the previous brightness, contrast, highlights, and shadows tabs in order to find what lighting suits best and brush in whatever your subject needs logically to appear as though light is realistically hitting them. Click the checkmark when finished.
TIP: Pay attention to light sources and where they hit.

DONE
If done correctly, the lighting, coloring, and filtering necessary for your subject to fit in is finally complete!
