How to Change Color in Photoshop
Photoshop tutorial on how to select and change color of an object. Easy and fast way how to change color, even for beginners.
Supplies
I'm using Adobe Photoshop 2020, an older version will suit as well.
Open Your Image in Photoshop
Copy Image
Use Ctrl + J (New Layer Via Copy) to copy image. In your Layers Panel, you should see Layer 1 now. You can also skip this step, it's optional.
Hue / Saturation
Select Hue/Saturation by Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation > OK
The Hue/Saturation adjustment layer in Photoshop enables you to adjust the colors in your image based on their hue, saturation, and lightness. Hue is the color in your image. Saturation is the intensity, or richness, of that color. And lightness controls the brightness value.
Pick On-image Tool
Select the On-image adjustment tool in the Properties panel.
Select Color
Once the on-image adjustment tool is selected you will see eyedropper tool. Select the color you want to change by simply clicking on it.
Change Color
Drag the Hue slider (or enter a value) to change color. For Saturation, enter a value or drag the slider to the right to increase the saturation or to the left to decrease it. For Lightness, drag the slider to the right to increase the lightness (add white to a color) or to the left to decrease it (add black to a color). Adjust sliders until you are satisfied with the color.
