How to Change Tubing on a Bike

Had to change the tubing on my bike as the wheel had gone flat so we suspect a puncture. Here are the following steps on completing this task.

Supplies

Screwdriver, tubing, pump

Removing the Tire

1. you must start by either keeping the bike up like we have here as its on a stand or turn the bike upside down to be as save as possible.
2. Then start to remove the hub as shown in the picture, sometimes it can be very tight so getting a screwdriver might help you loosen the bolts and the spring.

Taking the Tire Off

One you have the wheel removed from the fork you can get started on removing the tire.
3. Use a screwdriver to carefully remove the tyre from the rim.
Be careful with this process as its very easy to puncture the tyre with the screwdriver.
4. Once you get one half of the tyre away from the rim you can use your hands carefully to pull away the rest of the tyre.

Removing the Tubing

5.Once you have the tire pulled off carefully pull away the tubing.
6.Carefully remove it as the nozzle is attached to the tire.
7.One you pulled the tubing away from the tire you have successfully removed the tubing

Replacing the Tubing

8.When the new tube is ready to go on you must check that the new tube has no punctures.
9.First you put half the tire on the wheel.
10.You then slot the tubing underneath the half that is out and be careful with the nozzle make sure its in the right place.
11.then use a tool to get the full tire over the wheel if you are struggling with your hands.
12.You can proceed to pump up the tire.

Putting the Wheel Back on the Bike

13.The same way you took it off you put it back on the same way.
14.Put the rod through the nut and tighten the nut.
15.You must be careful with the front brakes also when putting the wheel back on.

Once tightened you have a bike fully repaired and ready for the road.
