How to Create a Fall Maple Tree From Dollar Tree Items!

Today we are going to create a Fall Maple Tree, using items I bought at the Dollar Tree. Funny how you can use stuff like a toilet plunger, yes, you read that alright, to actually create something fun and festive! You can watch the video right here.

All from Dollar Tree (except the hot glue gun)

1. Toilet plunger
2. Twine
3. 8-12 bunches of leaves
4. Glue gun and glue sticks
5. Rocks
6. Moss
7. Scarecrows
8. Pail

Take a new toilet plunger (lol). Leave the base on, for now. Using a hot glue gun, put some glue on the upper end of the plunger to stick a bunch of autumn leaves onto the plunger.

Stick one bunch and hold it in place for a few seconds. Place the next bunch at a little distance from the first one. If the bunches are placed too close together, they will only cause trouble. So, it is best to stagger them.

Remove the bottom off of the plunger. Add a little glue at the bottom end of the plunger stick and carefully place the twine on the glue. Hold it for a few seconds, to let the glue dry. Then roll the twine very tightly on the plunger all the way to the top. In fact, take the twine a little higher than the plunger rod, to give it extra stability and support.

Roll the twine until the top of the plunger. Pull the end tightly. Add a little glue on the twine and roll the twine on it once more so that it sticks well. Now cut the end. If the end starts to come out, add an extra bit of glue to hold it together.

Hold the base and fluff the leaves however you want them, to make your tree as full as possible. Separate the leaves from each other.

Place the flower foam at the bottom of the pail. Arrange it in such a way that it fits tight. Then, using a pair of scissors, make space for the tree to go into the foam.

Add the rocks to the pail, letting them reach the bottom. This is just to make the pail more stable, in case you intend to leave it out on the porch or outdoors.

Add a little moss to cover up the rocks. Then stick the scarecrows right into the foam. You could even add some bales next to the scarecrows to give it a little bit of dimension. Add fairy lights if you want to. You can add pretty much whatever you want to or have handy or spot at the Dollar Tree.

So basically, we built this under $15 (with the fairy lights), under 15 minutes. How's that for some crafting fun?
