How to Create a Watch Gift Box Using an Old Cardboard Sheet?

So the idea of making my watch gift box came to my mind when I gave a cute watch to my best buddy on his birthday. I decided to use an old cardboard sheet to create a watch box. What You Will Need?

The following things will be needed to create a watch box at home:

• Cardboard sheet or any other similar material
• Stapler (Used to staple the box)
• Scissor or any other cutting tool
• Scale and/or measuring tape
• Watch
• Cloth (to make a pillow for the watch to place in the box)
• Pen or pencil (to mark the dimensions of the box)

The Process of Creating a Watch Box Using Old Cardboard Sheet

It can be a tough job to make a watch box at home. But you need not worry about this. We will provide you with a detailed guide. Following the steps coming below will make it easier for you to do so. 

Use a scale or measuring tape to measure the required dimensions of the box. The size of the box will depend on the size of the watch. I am creating a box of 4” in length, width, and height. I used a scale to measure the dimensions and a ball pen to mark them.

Cut the cardboard sheet according to the required dimensions of the box. Cut all four sides. I am cutting it 4” in length, width, and height. I used scissor for cutting. The tip is to leave some extra sheet on a single side of all four sides which will be used to staple the sides together. Be careful to cut exactly according to the marked size otherwise the box will be de-shaped.

After cutting the box, fold it to form the shape of the box. Fold the extra sheet first then fold all the sides. I used a scale to perform this step. Be gentle while folding so that the cardboard sheet may not turn into pieces.

The next step is to pack all four sides. Use the extra piece of cardboard sheet to staple the side with the next side. Repeat this step for all sides. I used a stapler to staple the sides together. You can use any other sticky material as well.

When the box is ready, move toward the lid of the box. Use a piece of old cardboard sheet. Mark the dimensions of the lid according to the size of the box. The size of my lid will be 4.2”. 1 inch will be on all four sides of the lid. Use pencil and scale in this step.

The next step is to cut the sheet as per the marked dimensions of the lid. I am cutting 4.2 inches for the upper part of the lid and 1 inch for all the falling sides. I used scissor for cutting the cardboard sheet.

When the cutting process is complete, proceed to the next step of folding the lid. I used a scale for folding. Be gentle when folding. Then use the stapler to staple the lid in folded shape. Any other sticky material can be used in this step.

The lid is now ready. Place it on the box. And move to the next step.

After the box is ready, wrap it. Any of the wrapping materials can be used here as per your choice or the preferences of the person receiving this gift. I am using blank white paper for wrapping. You can also add a personalized message here. But I am leaving it blank.

Use the cloth available at your home to make a pillow. This pillow will be used to place the watch in the box. To make the pillow, roll the cloth. Keep in mind the size of the box when making the pillow. When pillow is ready, roll and white paper around it. Then roll the watch on pillow and place it in the box.

The watch gift box is now ready. Present it to your loved ones and make him/her feel special on his/her occasion. To add an extra feel, you can use the gift bag to present it to the recipient.
