You have found some wooden pallets and you are now ready to start your next pallet project but did you checked if your pallet is safe for using or not?

To know if your pallet is safe for reuse or not, you have to check for a stamp or marking on the sides of the pallet. There are two main things to watch for on the stamp:

1. The IPPC logo: if you don't see it, don't use it! Even if a pallet may be perfectly safe without this logo, it could also mean that it was treated with chemicals!

2. The treatment code : [HT] = Heat treatment / [MB] = Methyl Bromide / [DB] = Debarked / [KD] = Kiln Dried. In order for you to know easily if the pallet you have is safe or not, we have made this little visual infographic that will show you the signification of the codes on the stamps and will give you an easy way to know if it's safe or not.

For a lot more information's on pallet safety and to know the exact meaning of each stamp, you can visit the pallet safety page at 1001Pallets where you will have all the needed safety information before starting any new pallet project.
