How to Document Your Artwork

As an art student with limited access to tools, I'm always looking for ways to show my work in the best way possible. Here are steps to photograph your artwork with your phone or whatever device that is available to you, so that it looks more attractive to your audience.

Step 1: a Well Lit Room

Make sure when documenting your artwork you should take your photographs in a well lit room. Shooting near a window during the day will give you the best results.

Step 2: Recording Your Progress

With any great artwork it is always important and interesting to show how you got to one idea to another.

Step 3: the Set Up

Place your work somewhere that is easy to access and has a clear background that won't take away from your art. Here I used a black table for the background. When taking the photograph always make sure that your camera is at the same level as your artwork so that it doesn't show up distorted and looks exactly how it is in person.

Step 4: the Final Photograph

Taking multiple pictures will ensure you to get the best picture possible !
