How to Draw Arthur in 10 Easy Steps
This instructable is all about how to draw the beloved children's character Arthur. Learn how in these 10 easy steps!
Supplies
Grab a pen, pencil, paint brush or whatever else you'd like to use. I used a pen but there's no right or wrong way to draw this (although a pen or pencil will be easier to control than a paintbrush).
The Head
First, draw an oval. This oval can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. This will be Arthur’s head.
The Ears
Next, draw two semi-upside-down pear-like objects toward the left and right sides of the top of Arthur’s head. These are Arthur’s ears.
The Ears (Continued)
After this, add smaller versions of this same pear shape within the larger shapes (these will be his inner ears).
The Nostrils
Next, add Arthur’s nostrils. These will be two short inward-facing lines ( sort of like “ \ / “) toward the middle of his face.
The Glasses
Next you’ll add Arthur’s glasses. These are two circles connected by an upside-down “U” with earpieces on either side (which do not actually rest on anything as Arthur’s ears are obviously on top of his head…). You can fill them in (I made them black) or leave them uncolored.
The Mouth
Then you’ll add a half circle which will act as Arthur’s mouth. This will be located midway between the nostrils and the bottom of Arthur’s head.
The Eyes
Finally, you’ll add Arthur’s eyes, which are just two small black ovals midway between the nostrils and the top of Arthur’s head on either side of his face. You can locate them wherever you like within Arthur’s glasses.
The Eyebrows
Another final step is adding Arthur’s eyebrows, which are located fairly high up on his head above each eye and below each ear. They are also “U” shaped, have much more of a slight bent than a U.
The Shirts
If you’re feeling up to it, go ahead and add the top of Arthur’s signature shirt. This is a collared shirt underneath a v-neck sweater.
The Finishing Touches
And last — the most fun part of all — feel free to color Arthur! Arthur’s traditional color scheme is as follows: tan face and ears, yellow v-neck, white undershirt, pink inner ears and brown glasses. However, you can color him however you please!
