How to Fix Scratches in Furniture

In this instructable, I will be showing you how to hide scratches in wood furniture. Watch the 1 minute video above to see how I do this or keep reading below.

For this project, I used:

• Kleenex Hand Towels https://amzn.to/2UpwQ1n (these are more durable than paper towels and do not leave behind residue on the furniture)
• Old English Scratch Cover For Dark Woods https://amzn.to/2I781Rm
• Old English Scratch Cover For Light Woods https://amzn.to/2VcbS3j

I start by using furniture markers to fill in any scratches, making sure to wipe over the spots with a Kleenex hand towel immediately after I marker them. These markers come in a variety of colors and I always test out the markers on an inconspicous spot first to see which color matches best.

For larger areas of damage or fading, I apply Old English brand scratch cover to a Kleenex hand towel and wipe it on the entire area. The scratch cover comes in two different colors, one for light wood and one for dark wood. I like to have both on hand and test them out on an inconspicuous spot to see which works best.

And that’s all it takes! This is a great way to restore old furniture or even cover scratches on wood floors.
