This instructable will teach you how to create your own shuriken (ninja star) out of two square pieces of paper.

Supplies

The only materials that you will need are:

  • 2 pieces of square paper

You will need two pieces of paper that are both square in size. I used printer paper, but you can use whatever type of paper you would like as long as it is square.

2.jpg

Fold the top of the paper down so it is touching the bottom of the paper on both pieces of paper.

3.jpg

Fold each paper down again bringing the top of the paper down to the bottom just like the last step.

4.jpg

Fold each paper in half horizontally and then unfold. This crease in the middle will be used as a reference later.

5.jpg

On the left paper, fold the left half of it UP aligning the edge with the fold that was made in the last step like so. On the right paper fold the left half of it DOWN aligning the edge with the crease in the middle made in the last step.

6.jpg

On the left paper, fold the right half of it DOWN aligning it with the crease made in step 4. On the right paper, fold the right half of it UP aligning it with the crease made in step 4.

7.jpg

Flip both pieces of paper over.

8.jpg

Fold the top corners of each piece down.

9.jpg

Fold the bottom corners of each piece up, similar to how the fold in the last step was done.

10.jpg

Flip the right piece of paper over and orient it horizontally like the picture.

11.jpg

Place the right piece of paper over the center of the left piece of paper.

Tuck the top left corner of the bottom piece into the right fold of the top piece (red circles), then tuck the bottom right corner of the bottom piece into the left fold of the top piece (blue circles).

Flip the entire thing over.

Congratulations! You have created a shuriken out of paper.
