This is a quick and simple way to knit a cord!

Supplies

You will need:
Yarn. I’m using worsted weight
Double pointed knitting needles. I’m using 5mm
Scissors
Optional: a crochet hook the same size or smaller than your needles

Start by casting on your stitches. How many you do affects how wide your cord is. I recommend doing at least 3 and no more than 10. Here I used 5.

Start by knitting one row. Then slide your stitches to the end of your needle so that the working tail (the yarn coming out of the ball/skein) is on the left.

Take your working yarn and bring it across the back of the row you just knit. Then knit across

Repeat step 3 until the cord is as long as you’d like it

To finish your cord you need to cut the working tail and pull it through all the loops on your needle. Personally I find it easiest to transfer my stitches onto a crochet hook a size smaller than my needles and then pull it through the stitches.
You’re done!
