How to Make a Strong Wooden Sword
This is an Instructable that will teach you how to make a cheap, easy, but strong wooden sword.
A lot of wooden sword ideas are good, but they are very fancy and mostly made to look good. I know for a fact that most are not handcrafted and made using power tools. If you don't care how it looks and just want something strong and fun to make, this is the sword for you.

Materials
You will need a roll of Gorilla Tape, a knife with a sharp blade, and a 3 and a half foot long piece of maple that is 1 inch wide and a half inch thick. You can buy the wood at any Home Depot but it will come in a bigger size and you will need to cut it smaller.
Shape the Handle
First you will need to round the edges on one end for a five-inch section using a knife. Don't bother sanding it because now you should wrap it in Gorilla Tape. This will form a very effective hand grip that is comfortable and durable. Make sure to do it so it doesn't stick to your hand when you hold it.
Blade and Tip
Now you need to sharpen the tip. Here is where you can go multiple ways. You can make it single edged or double edged. My favorite, though, is a combination of the two, a single edge with a double tip.
Whatever you choose, just carve the tip to a point and sharpen the edge to form a blade.
Feel free to add details to this project or change it in any way you wanted to. Have fun with your sword and I hope you make it well!
