How to Make Bulletin Board Push Pins With Miniatures

How to Make Bulletin Board Push Pin Miniatures - Joyful Living v2.jpg

Personalize your bulletin board, at home or at work, with push pins that express your unique style - using miniatures. I made these pins for my kitchen bulletin board and it took no more than 15 minutes (not including glue drying time).

Gather Your Materials

You will need:

  • clear push pins,
  • miniatures of your choice (I purchased these at Michaels)
  • good glue that bonds plastic (if your miniatures are made of something other than plastic check that your glue bonds the material to the plastic of the push pins)
  • a piece of styrofoam or floral foam (anything that you can push your pins into upright to hold them while the glue dries)
  • latex gloves (or non-latex, if you are allergic) for handling the glue

Arrange Your Push Pins

Push your pins into your styrofoam (or material of choice)

Keep the pins an inch or so apart so you can maneuver your fingers around them as you glue on your miniatures.

Glue Your Miniatures & Push Pins Together

Read the bonding and safety instructions on your glue of choice. (Some glues, like the one I used, require you to put the 2 pieces together and then pull them apart for a minute and then put them together again.

This would be a good time to wear your gloves. You wouldn't want to glue a miniature to your finger :)

Add a dab of glue to the top of each push pin and position each miniature to your liking on the top of each pin.

Leave the glue on your new pins to dry according to the instructions on the bottle/tube.

Enjoy Your Unique Push Pins
