I know what you’re thinking. You want to make some incredible homemade gifts for your loved ones this Christmas but you don’t have the time, patience or energy to do it. What if I told you that these amazing Terry’s Chocolate Orange Brownies only take 15 minutes to prep, 25 mins to bake and no time at all to devour? Oh, and there’s hardly any pots to wash too as the whole thing is made in one bowl? I know right?! I promise I’m not lying. And they’re amazing. I mean really incredibly amazing! You’re totally making these, I don’t care what you say.

Here is what you will need to make 16 gorgeous bars.

  • 110g Unsalted Butter
  • 110g Dark Chocolate
  • 2 Eggs
  • 225g Golden Caster Sugar
  • Zest of 1 x Orange
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 60g Plain Flour
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 250g Terry’s Chocolate Orange Minis *

*You can use regular Terry’s Chocolate Orange too

Essential Equipment

  • 20cm (8″) Square Baking Tin
  • Large Microwavable Bowl

Making the Brownies

Grease & line your baking tin with baking paper then preheat your oven to 180°C/Fan 170°C.

Add the butter into a large bowl and break in the chocolate. Melt in the microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring well between each time. Try not to overheat. Leave to one side for a few minutes to cool to room temperature.

One at a time, beat in the eggs. Mix very well.

Add in the sugar and give it a really good beating with a spatula or whisk. It should stop being really grainy and become quite smooth.

Stir through the orange zest & salt…

Then sift in the flour & cocoa powder. Fold it all together with a spatula but don’t overdo it. Fold just until you can’t see anymore flour left in the batter.

Reserve 16 mini chocolate orange segments then cut the rest in half.

Fold through the chopped segments.

Pour the lot into your prepared tin and smooth out evenly.

The Finishing Touch

Place the reserved segments evenly along the top in a 4 x 4 grid. So basically, in the middle of where you will be slicing your bars. (I make 16 squares so I cut a 4 x 4 grid.)

The Bake

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes. It will likely be a little crispy on top but fear not, there is lots of gorgeous chocolatey goo underneath!

All Done!

Allow to cool completely before removing from the tin and slicing into 9 or 16 bars. Store in an airtight container (I prefer metal) at room temperature and consume within 5 days.

I promise these Terry’s Chocolate Orange Brownies are a gift that will keep on giving. They taste exactly like Terry’s Chocolate Orange, take no time at all to make and I guarantee they’ll magically disappear!

They would also make a really lovely gift. I will definitely making some for my wonderful Gran for Christmas who very much so declared her love for these brownies!
