How to Make Mississippi Mud Brownies
- This would be the perfect dessert for anyone craving something sweet or needing to bring something to a party, or event.
The Ingredients
Brownies:
- 1/3 cup of cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup of canola oil
- 1/2 cup of softened butter
- 2 cups of cane sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt

- 9 x 13 pan
Frosting:
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
- 1/3 cup of cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup of evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
Mixing
In the mixing step, you will mix the ingredients to make the brownies and the frosting.
Step 1: You will grease your pan with a non sticking spray, and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, add in the cocoa powder, then pour the oil over the powder and mix. Add in the softened butter next. Then mix in the sugar for a minute.
Step 3: Add in the eggs one by one and mix. Add in the vanilla and mix. Add the flour and salt to combine.
Step 4: Make the frosting for the brownies. Add in the melted butter, cocoa powder, evaporated milk, vanilla, and 2 cups of powdered sugar. Add in more as you go to get the consistency you like.
Bake
- Pour the brownie batter in the pan.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes.
- Take the brownies out, and let cool for a couple of minutes.
- Sprinkle marshmallows all over the top. Put the brownies back in the oven for about 2-3 minutes, or until marshmallows are puffed.
- Let the brownies cool down, and make the frosting.
Put Your Frosting On
- Make sure the brownies are cooled down before putting frosting on. It will go on a lot smoother.
