How to Make Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms
In this instructable, I will show you how to make Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms.
Ingredients
For this recipe you will need:
4-6 portobello mushrooms
1 c panko breadcrumbs
1 tsp olive oil
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
4 oz mozzarella cheese
2 red bell peppers
1 tomato
2 tbsp chopped chives
1 garlic clove
Make Room for the Stuffing.
First step is to remove the stems and gills from the underside of the mushroom using a spoon.
Heat Things Up
Line a baking pan with aluminum foil, place the mushrooms underside down and place in an oven that had the broiler preheated to cook for 5 min.
Using Your Time Wisely.
While the mushrooms are away, time to get to the other stuff.
Dice the bell pepper and mince the garlic.
Heat the oil in a skillet on medium high heat, sauté the peppers and garlic.
For the Rest of the Stuff:
Dice the tomato, chop the chives and grate the cheese.
Bringing It All Together
In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, cheese, bell peppers/garlic, tomato and chives.
Last But Not Least Ingredients
Mix the salt and pepper together.
Remove the mushrooms from the oven, flip them over gills side up and sprinkle the salt and pepper mixture evenly over the caps.
Stuff the Before Stuffing Your Face
Fill the caps with the stuffing mixture and place back in the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
