In this instructable, I will show you how to make yummy toffee using only two ingredients!  Toffee is actually surprisingly easy to make and goes well with a good cup of tea!

Well, lets get to it!

The Ingredients

To make this delicious toffee, you will need:

1 cup of brown sugar

2 sticks of real butter

That's it! Oh, and by the way, you will also need these:

1 saucepan

1 spatula or sharp knife

1 measuring cup

1 cookie sheet

At least 4 sheets of aluminum foil.  Yeah, 4 is a good number. Let's stick to just 4.

Pre Start

Before we begin, line the cookie sheet with one of the sheets of foil.

Let's Begin!

Okay, so the first thing you will want to do is measure out 1 cup of brown sugar (Don't forget to pack the sugar in the measuring cup really tight.).  Then, soften the butter so it is manageable. I usually just  shove it in the microwave for about 15 seconds, flip the sticks over, then nuke for another 10.

Next Step!

Put the butter and the sugar in the saucepan and turn the stove on to medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture is a nice amber color.

Wow! Another Step! What's Next!?! Another!?!

So, let the toffee boil for three minutes, and then pour the toffee out into the cookie sheet .  Remember 3 minutes.

Wait for It.

Well, you need to let it cool , and then we can get on with the next step. So while you are waiting, lick the spoon!

The Next Step!

Break or cut the toffee into little pieces.  You will probably need to break pieces when you get farther into it.

Wrap It Up!

Roll the still flexible toffee bits into a ball or a log, and just leave the hard toffee bits like they are, maybe stack the really small pieces, and then cut the aluminum foil into squares (I used wax paper in the pictures, but aluminum foil really is better.).

Then, wrap the pieces of toffee, place them in a bag, and put them in the refrigerator. You can leave them warm, but they really are better cool.

Clean It All Up!

You will notice that there is a lot of hard toffee left on the bottom of the pan. That can be easily fixed by filling the pan with water.  Toffee dissolves in water, so fill the pan up to the brink and wait about 15 minutes, and then clean it as usual.

You're done!

You're Done! Now Have a Cup of Tea!

Well, since everyone knows that toffee goes best with some good tea, then have a cup!  You deserve it!
