How to Make Very Tasty and Simple Popcorn

I have known how to make popcorn for a long time. It is a great snack that is super simple to make and it doesn't take much time. You can put it together for movies, or just as a fun treat. I have used this recipe over a hundred times. If you have popcorn kernels at home, you probably won't even have to leave the house for the ingredients.

Here's what you'll need for the recipe:

  • Popcorn Kernels
  • Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (Not pictured)
  • Salt

Super easy! Here are the other things you'll need.

  • A large pot with a lid, preferably a taller one,
  • A large bowl
  • A small bowl
  • A stove (Not pictured)
  • A microwave (Not pictured)
  • A spoon
  • A knife (to cut the butter into a 2 tablespoon piece)
  • Oven mitts
  • Spatula

Getting the Pot Ready to Cook

WASH YOUR HANDS.

The first thing you'll want to do is place the pot on the stove but do not heat it up yet.

Now you want to pour the olive oil into the pot so it just barely covers the entire bottom. You might need to tilt it around to cover the whole thing. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT USE TOO MUCH. The olive oil doesn't show up in the taste but if you use too much it will overpower almost everything else.

Then, take the popcorn kernels and pour them in so, like the olive oil and the school dress code's requirements, it covers the whole bottom.

Put the lid on and turn the stove up to high. I typically am able to do the step 2 by the time the popcorn pops, but if you're not sure or you're making this for the first time, You can always start the stove after putting the butter in the microwave.

Be sure to keep oven mitts nearby.

Melting the Butter

Take the small bowl and put the 2 Tablespoons of butter into it. You can go anywhere up to 3 tablespoons depending on how buttery you want to make it.

Cover it with a paper towel and put in in the microwave for 30 seconds.

If it's not fully melted by that point you can put it back in for 10 seconds.

When it's all melted, provided it doesn't pop, leave it next to the bowl.

Mixing It All Together

When the popcorn takes about 3-4 seconds between pops, put on the oven mitts and take off the lid. Put the lid in the sink.

Grab the handles and pour the popcorn into the bowl. Put the pot back on a different burner to cool down. If you move it straight to the sink the metal could warp, and that would be bad.

Pour the butter onto the popcorn and use the spoon and a hand to toss the popcorn. go from different directions, until you're sure the butter is spread around

Generously salt and toss. Taste occasionally to see if it needs more
