How to Make Your Own Foam Clay
Foam clay is the new 'thing' in cosplay and understandibly so. It is easy to use, lightweight, easy to sculpt among many other things. But if you let it dry completely out it gets quite brittle. This is my homemade version. It is not a replacement to the foam clay but it is much more durable and flexible. Plus it is very fun to play with.

Recipe:
- 2-3 cups of foaming shaving cream
- 2/3 - 1 cup of PVA glue
- 1 Table spoon of baking soda
- 1 -1.5 table spoons of eye drops
- 2 cups of cabosil (this stuff requires one to wear a dust mask or respirator, the particles are very small and can be inhaled. You have been warned!)

Recipe
- Truly this is pretty easy First put 2/3 - 1 cup of PVA glue into a large mixing bowl
- Next add 2-3 cups of foaming shaving cream, mix this up well
- Then add 1.5 table spoons of eye drops to the mixture.
- Mix this all up.
- Add the 1 Table spoon of baking soda.
- From there it should be starting to clump together and making a light slimy mass.
Once you have the foam slime made you need to make it so it does not sag or slump. So you need to add 1 -2 cups of cabosil (this is stuff used by composites workers to keep epoxies and other resins from flowing too much, it is known as antisag) this will stabilize the foam so you can sculpt it. (this stuff requires one to wear a dust mask or respirator, the particles are very small and can be inhaled. You have been warned!)
(Tip if the mixture is chunky add more PVA glue, if it is too runny add 1/2 a table spoon of baking soda.)
