How to Make Your Own Simple RC Jet Airplane
How to make an RC (Remote Control) airplane using foam or polyfoam cork, which I usually use, is quite simple and easy if you know the general formula. Why the cloud formula? because if you explain in detail and use sin cos tan and his friends, of course it will make a headache. Because I am just a hobby, what I pursue from making RC planes is that they can fly and are comfortable to control. And here are the steps on how to make your own RC airplane.
Supplies
Material:
. Polyfoam Type Cork 5 millimeter
. Brushless motor 2212 / 1400kv (2212 shows the size of the motor, 1400kv shows the speed of the motor)
. ESC 30A (ESC size / speed controlled depending on brushless motor specifications)
. two (2) servo pieces
. Propeller (propeller) size 8 inches
. 2 cell or 3 cell Lipo battery, I use 3 cell 1500mAh lipo, 2200mAh lipo cell and 2200mAh 2 cell
. Plywood for a brushless motorbike
. Stainless wire (a bit stiff) / umbrella spokes can also, for propulsion aircraft via servo
. Stopper (optional) for fastening stainless wire, without the stopper being bent with pliers, too
. Horn / or can be made with wood or anything that is important strong
. don't forget the Receiver and Transmitter which can feature mixing (especially for rc jet aircraft)
Equipment Required:
. Isolation
. Large transparent tape / clear tape
. Tang
. Scissor
. Glue Shoot / Glue Burn
. Cutter
. Soldering iron
. Paper Insulation
. Cutter Mate (optional) for the foundation / soft when cutting using the cutter
. Fuel insulation (optional)
. Colorful duct tape / tape to decorate the plane
. Back and forth rubber / green tape
. Ruler, iron ruler which is 60cm
Cover the Cork / Polyfoam With Duct Tape
This is to strengthen the polyfoam cork so that it is not
easily torn or broken when the plane crashes or withstand the wind, here's how:
coat the polyfoam cork with clear duct tape, then rub it with cork fragments so that the bond is stronger. Do this back and forth (top and bottom of the cork). Tips, the top of the cork in the direction of vertical duct tape, and the bottom horizontally or vice versa.
Making Airplane Design / Airplane Mall
The next step in How to Make an RC Airplane, As I wrote earlier,
The aircraft design can be directly drawn or download an existing design and then print it and put it together. The airplane design that I made can be downloaded here: Foam Jet Plan Full or Foam Jet Plan Tiled (size F4).
Cut Polyfoam Corks According to Design / Plane Mall
After the paper designs are put together. then paste the mall on the cork with tape, then cut the cork using a cutter.
For good results, cut twice, once and a half, and once again until it is full, and the cutter is perpendicular when cutting, and be careful when using the cutter.
Unite Pieces of Cork Aircraft Design With Glue Gun / Glue
Unite the fuselage first, then on the part where the motor, servo, receiver and esc cover later. The key is to be careful in attaching the parts of the plane, as much as possible gluing it in one go. Sorry there is no pic, forgot ...
Creating the Elevon Section
The elevon section functions to control the aircraft, located at the back of the plane.
Evelon is a mix of ailerons and elevators. The ailerons function to move the plane left and right, and the elevator functions to move the aircraft up and down.
This elevator combines the aileron and elevon in one part of the jet aircraft, so a remote control / transmitter is required that has an elevon feature, either analog or digital remote. So if you want to buy a transmitter / remote control, read carefully the features in it.
How to make the ellevon part is quite easy, in my design there is a red line, meaning don't cut it in full, but only half, it's hard to explain, but the results are like the image below, maybe in the future I will upload the video of the production.
Installing the Servo Part
There are two servo for jet aircraft, left and right, in the aircraft design there are already holes for the servo holder.
Glue the servo with hot glue, then attach the wire and horn. If you don't use a stopper, the wire is shaped like an S shape.
Installing a Brushless Motor and ESC on an RC Airplane
The location of the motorbike is in the lower center of the jet plane.
Previously, make a motorbike place with a 4cm x 4cm plywood or according to the size of the place / motorbike. Then attach the motor to the plywood right in the middle, fasten it with a screw. Then stick it on the plane with hot glue, slightly thicken the glue to make it stronger. Then connect the motor with ESC.
Usually there are 3 (three) ESC cables connected to a brushless motor, no need to fear the wrong pairs of 3 cables. Installing back and forth is not a problem, the effect is only on the motor rotation. If the motor turns upside down or the plane goes backwards, then just replace one wire pair with another. tips from me to get rid of feeling tense and tired when I work too long. I usually take kratom multivitamins to increase my energy, and now there is a lot of kratom for sale on the internet and you can order directly at the following link - https: // www .kratom-k.com
Installing Receiver on RC Plane
Look at the receiver in the engine compartment of the rc Jet.
Pay close attention to the order of the elevon and ESC cables on the receiver. Usually the order:
No.1 (channel 1) Aileron cable (at elevon you can choose one, if the movement is reversed, reverse on the remote)
No. 2 (channel 2) Elevator cable (at elevon you can choose one, if the movement is reversed, reverse on the remote)
No. 3 (channel 3) ESC / Throttle cable
No.4 (channel 4) Ruder Cable (on Jet Aircraft, this is not used)
Look carefully, do not reverse the installation, read the manual for the receiver you are using.
Install the Battery Holder on the RC Airplane
The battery compartment is located in the cockpit of the plane, add velcro as a battery silver.
The location of the battery is very important, namely to determine the location of the CG Center of Gravity of the aircraft, if the plane tends to rise while flying, then advance the position of the battery, but if the plane tends to fall while flying, then reverse the position of the battery.
Give the Plane the Final Touch
"Congratulations the plane is finished"
