How to Make a 360 Degree Wood Balance Board

Parts for making a 360 degree wood balance board:
- 4x4 Round Wood Post Top (Home Depot has them: Model #102615; Store SKU #429323)
- Block of 2x4 wood (or 2x3)
- 1/8 inch plywood, roughly 2 feet x 2 feet
- Waterproof Rubber tape (or even duct tape)
- Cedar Shingles (Home Depot sells them: Model #CSSHDSHAU; Store SKU #873969))
- Wood glue
- Hand drill and drill bit
- Small pieces of scrap wood and screws
Attach Wood Post Top & 2x4

- Use drill bit to start hole for wood post top screw
- Screw wood post into board until wood base is flush to the surface
- Screw will protrude from the other side
- Use 2x4 to cover and anchor screw
- Rotate wood onto screw until flush
Glue Cedar Shingles Together

- Take 2 cedar shingles and glue them together to make 1 piece of wood.
- Repeat this to make 10 to 12 pieces.
Glue Cedar Shingles to Board

- Glue cedar shingles one at a time to side of board with round post top.
- Keep adding shingles until you have about 6 shingles on the left and right sides.
Apply Rubber Tape

- Apply rubber tape to left and right side of top of board.
- This will make it easier to stand on the board with bare feet.
Attach Carrying Handle

- Use small pieces of scrap wood and wood screws to attach to bottom of balance board.
- This will make it easier to move the balance board around.
- Stand on board to force your weak leg to work harder than normal and improve your balance.
