How to Make a Chocolate Sourdough Pudding
This chocolate pudding is delicious. It's a sure favorite on a cold day, where a warm chocolate pudding is a hug from the inside.
Today I am going to show you have to make a chocolate sourdough pudding.
Ingredient's
To make your sourdough pudding you will need:
- 180 g Sourdough Starter
- 70 g white flour
- 12 g Milk power
- 160 g Sugar
- 5 g Cocoa powder
- 2 Tablespoons melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla essence
For the Sauce:
- 5 g Cocoa powder
- 1 & 3/4 cups hot water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
Mixing Together
Put the starter, flour, milk powder, sugar, cocoa, melted butter, egg, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence into a bowl and mix until well combined. Put the batter into a 20 cm round baking dish and leave to rise for about 8 hours.
Bubbles
After about 8 hours you should see some bubbles on the surface...this tells you the sourdough starter has worked throughout the entire mix and you're ready to add the sauce.
Sauce for the Pudding
To make your sauce you will need:
1 Tablespoon cocoa
1 & 3/4 cups hot water
1/2 Teaspoon vanilla essence
Just mix it together then pour the sauce on top of your pudding, careful not to punch holes into the batter with the stream of sauce. One way to avoid cutting into the batter is to carefully pour the sauce over the back of a spoon. Take care not to splash yourself...pour slowly!
Bake for 30 minutes at 180 C (360F) or until cooked. Leave it to cool for 5-10 minutes then enjoy!
This pudding is wonderfully paired with whipped cream, ice cream or even cream fraiche.
I hope you make this pudding...let me know what you think of it in the comments below.
