- Model Clay Mold
- 3D Creality Scanner
- A Computer
- A Large 3D printer
- CR Studio App
- (OPTIONAL) TPU Filament (if not then use PLA filament)
Create the Foot Mold

The goal of this project is to create a custom shoe insole designed specifically for your arch. In order to do this, we will need to grab modeling clay. Modeling clay is useful because it allows for your foot shape to be perfectly captured while not falling apart at the same time. Stretch out the modeling clay until it is reasonably thick and the length of your foot. Once it is done, place your foot in their for around a 1-2 minutes. After that, remove it. You should have something that resembles the shape for your foot.
Scanning the Foot Mold

Next, take the Creality Lizard Scanner and hook it up to a computer. Place the foot model on the turntable. Use the CR Studio app and start scanning the 3D model. After finishing it, look at the scan. If you aren't happy with it, scan it again. If you didn't capture most of the frame, you can do another scan and mesh them together.
Editing the Foot Model to Your Choice

Once done, let it process for a few minutes until finished. A problem I had was that the board kept getting it in the way. I started by using the lasso on the Studio App. That helped me take out large chunks from the base. If the board is still in the way, take it to a cad website(ex. Tinkercad, Blender, Onshape) and edit it there. You should have a shape which looks like a black mold above.
Printing the CAD Model

Export the file from CR Studio as STL. Then, get a slicer. Depending on what 3D printer you have, different slicers will be needed. For example, if you have a prusca printer, you will need a prusca slicer.I reccomend using Ultimaker Cura, as it is the most simple out of all the slicers. Once sliced, use the preview function. The preview will tell you exactly how the model will be printed. Lastly, export the disc to an SD card and put it in the printer. (if you are using TPU filament, make sure your printer supports it, otherwise you will need a new printer, Any printer can support PLA) Wait for it to print and then enjoy your 3D printed insole!
