How to Make a Flourless Chocolate Cake | 5 Ingredients
Want to eat a chocolate cake that doesn't have any flour in it? Look no further, this Chocolate Cake comes together really nicely (it is pretty basic) and it is decadent, chocolatey, light, and fudge. This cake only has 5 basic ingredients that you probably have on hand. So if you want to make your own Flourless Chocolate Cake, then follow the step by step guide below or watch the video tutorial here:
Supplies
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 12 ounces semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
- 12 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
Optional
- Confectioners' sugar or cocoa powder for sprinkling
- Ice Cream
Spray Spring Form Pan
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Spray a 9 by 2-inch spring form pan with nonstick spray.
Add Chocolate, Butter and Salt
Put the chocolate, butter, and salt in a large heat safe bowl (I am using a large glass bowl).
Melt Chocolate
Bring a saucepan filled with an inch or so of water to a very slow simmer; set the bowl on the pan without touching the water (you are making a double boiler). Stir occasionally until mixture is completely melted.
Beat Eggs With Sugar
Beat the eggs and sugar with a standing or handheld mixer until light and thickened, about 8 to 10 minutes. The egg mixture will double in volume.
Fold in Melted Chocolate
Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped eggs until evenly combined.
Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out wet but not gooey, about 1 hour and 25 minute.
Cool Cake
Remove cake from the oven and cool on a rack. When ready to serve remove ring from spring form mold. Dust cake with confectioners' sugar or cocoa powder.
Enjoy!
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired. The top of the cake will crack, and the center is pudding like. Enjoy!
