How to Make a Homopolar Motor

To make a homopolar motor,

Materials:

1. a D size battery

2. bare copper wire (won't work if insulated)

3.1 rare Earth magnet

4. pliers (for stripping and bending the wire)

5. thin fishing wire (this is optional)

Directions:

1. Make sure that your wire is bare

2. take your D battery and place it on a piece of paper on it's side and trace it

3. draw the shape of the wire

4. attach the magnet to the bottom of the battery

5. take the fishing wire and bend it so it is the same size as it is in the picture

6.do the same with the copper wire

7. put the wire on the battery

8. it should spin
