How to Make a Hook for Handling Snakes

This tutorial will show you how to make a hook for handling snakes. All that you will need for this project is a metal golf club shaft, epoxy, a grinding tool, and a small metal bar.

Shaping the Metal Bar

Take your thin metal bar and make sure it is small enough to fit into the top of the golf club shaft. If it is, then bend it into the shape that is shown here. It works best if your club is hollow where the shaft would meet the head of the club. If it doesn't have a hole, you should be able to carefully drill a hole out big enough for the bar to fit.

Adding a Bevel to the Bar

Use your grinding tool to shape a bevel to look like this, but make sure you don't make it too sharp. This will make it much easier to pick the snake up.

Use your epoxy to attach the metal bar to the shaft. Let it sit until the glue is dry. After that step, you're finished!
