How to Make a Karambit Out of a Wrench

For the forging of the wrench what you need to do is dip half of the ring in water then hit on the cool part to flatten it down. Cooling it down keeps you from ruining the shape of the ring. Then hit it over the horn on your anvil until you have your desired curve. Forge in the bevels if you would like and you are done!

Now you want to grind in the point of the blade and the bevels. If the ring fits your finger then you can skip this step but using either using files or a sanding drum grind away the notches in the ring so your finger can fit, you can also do this just to make it a bit more comfortable.

This step is fully optional. Put it in your hand and mark out where your fingers go and grind out a little hump. Where the thumb goes you can file out little notches to add grip. You can also do anything else that comes to mind.

Using your forge or a torch heat the metal up until it is no longer magnetic and dump it in any kind of oil. Use a file to test it and make sure it is hardened then wash off all the oil that is left. Put it in a temper oven, a toaster oven, or a regular oven that is on 420 degrees and watch it until it is a golden wheat color or looks kind of like brass.

Clean it up if you would like and do the final sharpening. I did a paracord wrap but you can do any type of handle you would like.
