How to Make a Mojito (Mocktail)

Learn how to make this simple yet delicious mojito with this Instructable. This Cuban cocktail, originally made with white rum, is still as refreshing in the form of a mocktail and is quick and easy to make for friends and family. Take a sip of your homemade drink and drift off into the Havana sunshine!

Supplies

Serving size - 1

You will need:

1. Half a lime (cut into 4 pieces)

2. 1 tbsp granulated sugar Mint leaves (6-12)

3. sparkling water or club soda

4. Solid muddler (if you do not have one, use a rolling pin or something similar)

5. A glass (preferably a tall one, about the size of a mason jar)

6. Crushed ice (for authentic feel use cubed ice like they do in Cuba)

Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients (Lime)

gather your ingredients and equipment:

1. Wash your lime and place on cutting board

2. Cut the top off of one end of the lime

3. Cut the lime in half

4. Take one half of the lime and cut it into quarters

Step 2: Prepare Your Ingredients (mint)

1. Grab your mint and take a few sprigs

2. Take off 6-12 leaves and leave a small amount for garnish

3. Gather the laves together and place them in the palm of your hand and slap them with the other (this brings out more of the scent and flavor

Step 3: Assembling the Drink

1. Take the lime and sugar and place them in the glass

2. Use your muddler or rolling pin and press down on the lime and sugar in the glass in a crushing motion until the juice of the lime is filling the bottom of the glass

3. add the mint into the mixture and muddle the mint as well

4. add the ice all the way to the top of the glass

5. pour the club soda/sparkling water in

6. mix everything together with a straw or spoon

1. take the finished drink and put the garnish mint on top

2. Add an optional straw (recommended) and enjoy :)
