How to Make a Simple Cootie Catcher/Fortune Teller
In this project, I will be showing how to make a Cootie Catcher/Fortune Teller.
Supplies
You will need:
1 piece of paper (8.5 by 11in. or square)
A writing/drawing tool (pencil, pen, marker, etc.)
Scissors (if using 8.5 by 11in. paper)
Cutting the Paper
If you are using a square piece of paper, you can skip this step and move on to Step 2.
If you are using an 8.5 by 11in. piece of paper, then fold one of the corners down so that the top edge of your paper is perfectly aligned with one of the sides of the paper. Then cut the remaining bottom of the paper.
Folding the Paper
You should now have a square piece of paper. Now fold the paper in half both ways so that there are 4 individual corners on the paper. Then fold each corner to the center of the paper and flip the paper over so the paper is now a smaller square. Now repeat: fold the new smaller square in half both ways, fold each corner of the square to the center of the paper, and flip it over.
Forming the Cootie Catcher/Fortune Teller
Fold the paper in half both ways repeatedly so that the paper is pretty flexible both ways. Then try to form the cootie catcher into its 3D form.
Optional: Design Your Fortune Teller
This step is optional, but if you want to make your cootie catcher/fortune teller look less bland, you can design it any way you want.
