How to Make a Vampire Pumpkin
The vampire pumpkin gives a fun way to decorate a pumpkin without having to deal with the messy pulp.
Step 1: Find Image
To find your mask image, go to google images and type in half face mask until you find something that intrigues you for your vampire to wear.
Step 2: Edit Image
Once you get your image, put it into photoshop and mess with the contrast and brightness so that its completely black and white. Once you save this image to your desktop open it with illustrator. Once in illustrator, go to the top of your screen and hover of the "object" option. Find the image trace option under object. Once in image trace, click make and expand. From there download your file as a DXF so the laser cutter will recognize the file.
Step 3: Laser Cut
Download the DXF on a flash drive. Once it's downloaded put the flash drive in the computer that is connected to the laser cutter. Import your file and in the top left corner you can size it down to your preference depending on the size of your pumpkin. Once you have the preferred size, hit download. Now, on the laser cutter click file and chose yours. Place your material in the laser cutter then press start.
Step 4: Design Mask
Before you begin painting, use a drill and cut two holes in the top corners to thread string through. After that is one, begin painting. To create the bloody eye look, mix red and black paint then dab a paper town in it then apply to the mask.
Step 5: Mouth
For your mouth, you can choose any type of pattern for teeth that you'd like. Use a sharpie for best results, and then dab on more red and black paint from the paper towel that you used for the mask. Dab on the edges of the mouth for the vampire look. Put the mask on the pumpkin, and you have your vampire!
