How to Make a Wreath Out of a Tree Branch

Here's a Christmas wreath I made out of a Juniper tree branch.

I learned something from making this: Don't ever make anything out of these branches, they have annoying little ultra-sharp pokey things all over them, like a rose bush. So, if you do decide that you want to make a wreath out of a Juniper tree branch, wear gloves and do it outside, unless you want to have the pokey sharp things all over your hands and floor.

You'll need:

Normal scissors

Pruning shears

String

Optional, if you want decorations:

Yarn or ribbon

Pipe cleaners/chenille stems

Pom-poms or beads or something similar, if you put these on, you'll need glue.

Lights (weave these around the wreath)

Preferably a pine tree (Pictured is a Juniper tree). The best branch should be long enough and bendy, with plenty of leaves/needles.

Cut a piece of string, about 6 inches or a little less. Take your tree branch and carefully bend it into a circle shape, then use the string to tie the ends of the branch together, making your wreath. You can also use that sting you tied and make a loop to hang it (pictured above).

The branch might have little branches on it that stick out. Just weave them into the branch.

Take the yarn/ribbon and tie it into a bow on the wreath, you might have to glue it. Take the pipe cleaners/chenille stems and cut them into 2 inch pieces and put them on, twisting them so they'll stay (They can also be used to make bows). Pom-poms can be glued on.
